This is a new segment to this blog called Good Books. It will feature what is on my nightstand or future reading list. These books range from any topic: fiction, politics, history or humor.
This week, I have just begun reading “Upstream: The Ascendance of American Conservatism” by, Alfred Regnery (who publishes The American Spectator). Regnery is one of the most distinguished experts on the conservative movement, and he has been involved in republican politics since he was eight. Regnery gives a brilliant insight into the modern day conservative movement and traces the history of conservatism in America. Personally, I believe that his book begins at the right point, Reagan’s funeral in 2004. While Barry Goldwater is the godfather of conservative politics, Ronald Reagan is the pioneer of the movement. I think that this book should be read by every politician and anyone who is active in politics. More updates to come when I actually get midway through the book.
