Today, we remember a great American leader who demonstrated grace, dignity and strength. Four years ago, America lost Ronald Reagan, who stood true to his conservative beliefs and the advancement of liberty around the world. Reagan stood strong and told Mr. Gorbachev to “tear down this wall” to stop the Cold War. Reagan fought to keep our country prosperous by passing a tax cut that stimulated the economy.
Although I was born a year after Reagan was sworn into office, I believe it was his leadership that was my inspiration to become a Republican at an early age. In fact, I remember debating with a family friend (who was an ardent Maryland Democrat) at the age of 3 about how Ronald Reagan’s tax cuts were right for America.
Ronald Reagan is one of my personal heroes, and our country is remembering one of the greatest leaders today. RIP!
