Crystal Clear Conservative Endorses Jimmy Buffett for President

Most of my friends have been placing bets on who I would endorse for President of the United States.  My polling has shown that 60% said that Bob Barr was my choice, 25% said Chuck Baldwin, and the best stat of all was that 20% said I would hold my nose and vote for McCain.   Well, my friends are wrong (and NO, I am not voting for Barack Obama)!

Crystal Clear Conservative is starting the official write-in campaign for Jimmy Buffett to run as a Parrothead in the General Election.  Now, why would CCC endorse Buffett?  Well, it is quite simple.   We need less fruitcakes running the government and the world.   As President, Buffett would pass the tax cuts needed to stimulate the economy (which would help us afford the staples of the beach life:  flip flops, etc.).

**Note:  After all, this is supposed to be humorous.  It might or might not happen :-) .

UPDATE:  Encourage your friends and family to place their “Fins” up for Jimmy Buffett in November or else, the fruitcakes will continue to mess up our Government!

Scratch The Offshore Drilling

Well, it looks like there will be no offshore drilling off of the coast of Virginia anytime soon.  The Democrats in the General Assembly have taken a stand against the drilling that would allow us to rely upon our own natural resources, instead of relying on foreign oil.  Aside from this, the Democrats also have turned down a proposal that would allow us to improve transportation through drawing from existing revenue sources.   It appears that we are headed for tax increases.

Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling made a statement today about the General Assembly decision to block offshore drilling.

“One of the most important issues facing our country today is the development of additional domestic energy sources.  Likewise, one of the most important issues facing our state is the need to secure additional resources for highway construction and maintenance.  By rejecting this legislation, Senate Democrats have turned a deaf ear to each of these issues and shown once again how out of touch they are with the people of Virginia.”

SB 6011, which was introduced by Senator Frank Wagner (R-Virginia Beach) would have allowed for funding allocated for offshore drilling to go into the Transportation Trust Fund, which would have improved the roads, etc.   The other portion of this funding would go towards cleaning up the Chesapeake Bay.

The other bill was introduced by Senator Ken Cuccinelli (R-Fairfax), which would have kept 100% of the payments related to offshore drilling and placed it in the Transportation Trust Fund.

Right now, it looks like we are headed towards deadlock.

Crystal Clear Conservative’s Birthday and Six Months In Operation

Today is my birthday (yes, the blogger CCC) and coincendentally, my blog’s six month anniversary.   During the six months, Crystal Clear Conservative has had its high points and low points.  It is all about making a difference one post at a time.   As for myself, it has been one heck of a ride over the past year, and my favorite Parrothead, Jimmy Buffett wrote a song that is appropriate for this occasion, “I am growing older, but not up.”  How true is this?

Here is a Jimmy Buffett Song in honor of the Birthday Girl:
