A Superior Court Judge in Fulton County, Georgia has ruled that construction of Dynegy’s Longleaf plant be halted until it is assured the plant will limit the amount of carbon dioxide it releases.
Well, what do the environmentalists propose for energy resources? Coal is a natural resource that will assist in reducing the high costs of energy, especially in the winter time. Right now, we are paying almost $130 for a barrel of oil, and we need to start relying on our own natural resources to assist in addressing the energy crisis.
What was the Judge’s justification?
Did the black-robed priest-king cite the Constitution, the Environmental Protection Act, or just made up from the bench – because no one will stop him?
The funny thing was the article only cited the Supreme Court ruling in 2007 which mentioned carbon dioxide pollution. It just goes to show that judicial activism is alive and well in our country.
Well stated. I would only add that this is indicative of institutionalizing bad science as policy.
To the judge that has stopped this; Please your honer, you must reconsider. As a local, my emc has a planed a 30% increase in rates. In this time of high energy costs, decisions like this will cost me my house. I cannot buy a more fuel efficient car, actually I cant get another car at all. I really need some help here
