Head Over to the VA GOP Caucus Blog

The VA GOP Caucus blog had an interesting article about how Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Gerry Connolly has caused the county to pay more for the influx of illegal aliens in our county through the funding of new schools.  Now, obviously, it is not just about the education system, all social services are being effected by this current rise of illegal immigrants in Fairfax County.   The crime has been rising in areas that experienced little crime, like Centreville.

I feel a “Bye Bye Gerry” movement rising soon.   With the irresponsible “safe haven” behavior of Chairman Connolly, how can we trust him as a Congressman?

#Don’t Go Movement Is Building Steam

Imagine getting a five week vacation every August!  One might imagine how great this sounds, but our elected officials in Congress get this time to go back to their districts and meet with constituents.  It is basically a working vacation, but Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats did not waste any time leaving the Capitol last Friday.  But, the Republicans stuck by their guns and decided to work for the people of their districts to address the current energy crisis that is strangling American families and our economy.

There is a new movement that has begun to highlight Pelosi’s corruption and lack of leadership in the Congress.  It’s called #don’t go, and it has energized both the conservatives in new media and energize the netroots to get them more involved in calling on Queen Pelosi to do her job and lead.

Back On Offense: Obama Gets Personal On Energy Policy

Barack Obama sought to regain the political offensive on Monday, painting John McCain as part of the problem when it comes to comprehensive energy reform. Quoting the Arizona Republican as saying that “our dangerous dependence on foreign oil has been thirty years in the making,” Obama leveled one of the more direct criticisms…

So, what does Barack Obama propose? Passing on a Windfall Profits Tax to help solve this problem. What Obama should do is encourage his Democrat colleagues in the House to postpone their 5 week vacation and address the energy issue now. This will have much more leverage in who cares more about this issue, and the Republicans have common sense ideas that will help America go forward and not rely on foreign oil.
