Obama Does NOT Stand for Women

Just when you think Barack Obama couldn’t sink to an all-time low, he does in a way that was vile and offensive to women.   Obama made a remark, directed towards Republican Vice Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, where he said, ”You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig.”   This comment has been made by several candidates, including Obama and John McCain in the past, but not directed towards a woman in an offensive, deragatory way.

Now, you may ask what’s wrong with this statement.  First, this comment is out of line.  One can see that this is a clear attack on Palin by saying that she will represent the past behavior of Republicans.   Why would you stoop down so low to attack?  I guess this is politics as usual.

Palin made a humorous remark during last week’s Republican National Convention comparing a hockey mom as a bulldog with lipstick was all in humor and completely tongue-in-cheek.

The remarks by Barack Obama represents the dirty politics of the past, not the change we are seeking.  At least, McCain and Palin will bring the right change to Washington and shake things up.

  1. This is amazing and extra silly. He was talking about them tring to say they are about change. If he wanted to attack her he could say how she is lying about that silly bridge. I wish they would give us some substance…

  2. Puh-leeze. Then McShame did not stand for women when he criticized Hillary Clinton using the same common saying. Grow up. Instead ponder the fact that you are supporting a racist, sexist, vindictive and mean woman.

    It’s true:

Anyone who supports McShame/Ailin’ supports racists who toss about racist and sexist slurs. Is that what you want in the White House? A mean, ruthless person who intimidates people to get her way, lies even omre pathologically than Mrs. Clington, calls a grown man “Sambo,” calls Eskimos “Arctic Arabs,” and calls another woman a “bitch”? Sarah Palin doesn’t even support women!

I’ve told my GOP friends — if you support that ticket, you tell me how you really feel about blacks and women — and you are dead to me.

  3. Coming, as it did, so soon after Palin made her hockey mom/pit bull joke, surely Obama’s handlers could have foreseen McCain’s campaign would interpret Obama’s “lipstick on a pig” comment.

timing, that would make him look extremely stupid, not to know how it would be seen by his political opponents. If he did indeed, make the comment on purpose, it makes him mean spirited and rude.

Either way, he looks bad. Here’s one Conservative that hopes he keeps making such statements.

  5. Why is Obama getting critized for this remark, I have no idea. The statement is true. I am a woman and believe firmly in women’s right however, that doesn’t change the fact that some women ARE pigs. Just as some men are. It’s not the face I am looking at. It’s the thought and where it came from.

  6. Elise,

Come on now…when you run for any political office, you are put under the microscope of the media. If you say one thing that is not considered politically correct, the mainstream media and bloggers will criticize these statements.

I found it offensive as a woman that Barack Obama would refer to any woman as a pig. Seriously, it is condescending.

  7. Wow…I’m not all that political, hell I’m only 16….but this is a bit much to be upset about in my opinion…I mean I can see why so many people would be upset by the slur but it’s one hit and not even hard…I’m sure Palin is enough of a respectable women to let it slide off her like glue to rubber, as the saying goes….
