Who Voted for the Auto Industry Bailout?

Well, the Clerk of the House has just released the roll call vote list on H.R. 7321 “The Auto Industry Financing and Restructuring Act” (i.e., the bailout bill).   The Republicans who voted for this particular bailout bill forgot what it means to be fiscal conservatives and being advocates of the free market.  They feel that they would rather look for their own interests, instead of the interests of their constituencies.

Here is the link to the bill.

  2. What a sorry bunch of SOB’s. Hopefully it will die in the Senate long enough to force GM into bankruptcy.

  5. I can understand the ones from my state (Michigan) are feeling pressure from the news media and the Union here, but it doesn’t give them an excuse to cower to them. The Union never votes Republican anyways, so why cater to them? I think I’m one of the few in Michigan that would like to see GM and Chrysler in Chapter 11. The government can provide DIP financing…the UAW will continue to choke them until they are finally forced to face reality…these loans will do nothing.
