McAuliffe and the Lobbyist
At a recent campaign stop, Terry McAuliffe showed that he can fundraise, even if the donation comes from a lobbyist. However, doesn’t he go against his proposed ban on accepting gifts from lobbyists? According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, McAuliffe wants to stop lobbyists from giving gifts to legislators, as it will “”strengthen transparency and accountability” in state government and in the private sector.”
Something tells me that if this lobbyist finds out about the proposed ban, she will not shower him with money.
