Adnan Barqawi, outgoing Commander of the Corps of Cadets at Virginia Tech, delivered a stellar speech to the delegates at Saturday’s Republican Party of Virginia Convention. Several times throughout the speech, delegates were drawn to their feet in standing ovations for Barqawi, who was born and raised in Kuwait, and recently became an American on April 17, 2009. Throughout his speech, Barqawi spoke that America stood for freedom and provided him many opportunities that were not available to him in Kuwait. He will soon join Teach for America as an elementary school teacher in the Mississippi Delta.
Rick Sincere videotaped the amazing speech.
This speaker was one of the best at the convention! His speech should be spread throughout the nation to inspire a new generation.

What a pleasure to have been on hand to hear this wonderful speech. He made me proud of what is left of this country.
I was a delegate to the convention and heard the speech live. What an awesome job this young man did. Not only were his words inspiring, but his delivery was impeccable. Somehow we need to have his speech reviewed by the youth of our area (our nation) so they can see the type of role model that they need to become.
