Palin Quits!

According to Fox News, it appears Sarah Palin has decided to resign as Governor. Speculation says that she did this to prepare for a 2012 run. Perhaps, it was the consistent cloud of media coverage hindering her ability to serve.

Whatever the reason may be, if she is planning to run for President, she will not have my support.

  1. I’m a little dismayed at the Palin fans who are now in a frenzy in their support for her bid for President in 2012. She resigned from a position which the people elected her to serve a four year term. She stepped down for whatever reasons she has; political, persona, family, whatever. And that is fine. She has personal and family needs like everyone else and perhaps needs to do what is best in that respect.

However the droves of Republicans shouting for Palin in 2012 is supremely disappointing. If she were in fact to run, I see no way to rationalize voting for a person who resigned their elected office just to seek another one. I wish her all the best with her family and hope the media leaves her alone. However her political career is all but over.

  2. I don’t know Steve. Seems a lot more honest to not maintain one office when pursuing another; while Sarah Palin should be able to maintain her office before running, it seems like presidential elections start earlier and earlier each cycle, and she may recognize this. Meanwhile, here in Virginia, we have a governor who has shown that he is incapable of doing two jobs at once. Sarah Palin may have recognized this was far from wise in making such a decision. I would suggest you don’t count someone out so early in the game; more often than not, such assumptions tend to be wrong.

  3. I wonder what she knows about the economic future of Alaska that isn’t public yet?

  4. Just a little while ago, a Governor ran away from his duties for a week, to Argentina. Now Palin is running away for her own reasons. Is this a trend?

  5. Sarah Palin will not be able to run for Sheriff much less any other office from behind bars. The entrtainment has only just begun.

  6. Not that I’d support Palin in the primaries in 2012, but if we’re applying the standard that you can’t resign from one office, for the purpose of seeking another, what about our gubernatorial candidate who did exactly that?
