Worst “debate” ever. Who was responsible for this travesty?
First question is about Ted Kennedy? Yeah, that is foremost in the minds of voters choosing a delegate. You can’t start off cratering any harder than that.
Then the bizarre notion of having a proxy for each candidate there. Who came up with that wacko idea?
The “moderator” there was plainly awful.
Geez, I hope voters in that district have other means of making decisions. Among all the production problems in this, the horrible format, the truly bizarre design of the event with the inane notion that candidates need proxies to rescue them during a debate, and a moderator that looks like she’s never done this before, this was a waste of airtime.
It’s amazing that despite all this the candidates could make any impression on the voters. If they cleared away the cruft and just let the candidates go at it, this might have been worthwhile. Instead, this was a completely blown opportunity.
I am amazed by how every mistake that could have been made in making this happen was taken to full advatage. The only thing missing here was having a pack of stray dogs chasing a cat across the set.
