Dividing Virginia: "Mudcat" style
What does Democratic strategist, David “Mudcat” Saunders, have against Northern Virginia? In a conference call that was intended to be for the media, “Mudcat” was unaware that reporters were on the line when he said some comments that placed Northern Virginia against several areas of the state. The Washington Post reports that “Mudcat” said, “From what I’ve seen up in Northern Virginia, they don’t give a damn if people talk s*** about us.” He followed up that comment by saying that there are more rednecks on Route 1 in Alexandria, than in the sixth district of Virginia.
As someone who lives in Northern Virginia, I am not just concerned about what happens in my own backyard, rather I am concerned about what happens throughout the Commonwealth. Perhaps, Mudcat should come out and explain his true intentions behind the comment and apologize to those in Northern Virginia. We’re not rednecks, and we certainly give a damn about what happens in other areas of the state.
