A Snowe Job on Health Care
Yesterday, the Senate Finance Committee passed their version of the health care bill. This bill, which was not allowed online 72 hours before the vote, so people could read what was in it, passed 14-9. The only Republican to vote for this was *surprise, surprise* Sen. Olympia Snowe.
The quote of the day, courtesy of National Review, comes courtesy of Snowe.
Is this bill all that I want? Far from it. Is it all that it can be? Far from it. But when history calls, history calls.
So, history calls for Snowe to vote on legislation that will destroy our liberties to choose whether or not we want to purchase insurance or to place more economic burden on American families.
Whatever Snowe’s reasoning was for passing this bill, hopefully, a strong candidate will stand for liberty in 2013 and challenge her. In the meantime, I join with Erick over at RedState by sending a bag of rock salt to “melt her” and send a sign that this was a mistake to pass an economically devastating bill.
