Wow! I am (expletive) speechless that a political candidate would air this commercial. This is coming from a candidate running for Mayor in New Orleans. In the Big Easy, I guess anything goes.

I will say this…..as an example of really “getting down with the people,” this ad rules. Funky background, salty language, and a narrator who doesn’t speak American neutral…..it plays to the New Orleans vibe.
Trouble is, voters tend to like to elect people who are like them but not too like them…..who they’d like to be if they had their *expletive deleted* togather. Note that this rule does not apply to Marion Berry, for some reason I’ll never understand.
While I haven’t been back to my hometown in decades, I’ll bet that this guy wins. IF, and its a big IF, he isn’t known as a corrupt lower level politician. Nagin was elected and RE-ELECTED because New Orleanians are tired of the the crooks.
However, his claims are ridiculous. There is NO way that he’s going to reduce the murder rate by 40% and he knows it.
Murderers kill in broad daylight and witnesses won’t testify. And when they do, the DA’s are letting them walk.
Drug money talks.
I don’t see what the &8%$ing problem is girl. They are just #@!&ing their ?&%$ing mind. Don’t give them S@$* just because they use some &%$#ing language that you dont %@#$ing like. (Just Kidding, but I felt like I was back in Brooklyn)
An Eagle Scout would not condone an ad with people acting that way.
In the old days when I lived in the Algiers section of NOLA, the cops responded for demands to reduce the murder rate by moving corpses out to the surrounding Parishes.
New Orleans is still an old machine-style politics town. Whoever the overlords are backing will win. This lardass Perry hasn’t got a prayer.
It got my %$#^*#& attention, good for name recognition, ETC.
