Del. Jim LeMunyon (R-67th) introduced legislation that would require that all votes taken in committee and on the floor of the Virginia House and Senate to be posted on the General Assembly’s website and indexed by name.
HB 778 has been referred to the Committee on Rules.
This is great news for bringing more transparency to the state government and helps to hold our leaders accountable for their votes on certain policies.

My thoughts and prayers go to those who have endured the pain from the earthquake in Haiti. It is a tragedy that has brought many tears to my eyes over the past day or so.
The American Red Cross is accepting donations and it is as easy as texting HAITI to 90999. This will send an immediate $10 donation to the relief efforts. There are also several other non-profits active in the search and rescue efforts. Samaritan’s Purse is sending a group down to Haiti, and they recently sent materials to assist with rebuilding efforts.
Again, my thoughts have been with those in Haiti. The horror and pain they must be feeling is unthinkable.
