Coakley's Loss is a Blow to Women
GUEST POST by B!tchzilla
The AP has announced that Republican, Scott Brown has defeated Democrat, Martha Coakley for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by the death of Senator Ted Kennedy. Now, on to business…
It’s about time someone put up a strong progressive woman’s perspective on this blog. CCC is okay, being a woman and all, but, as a libertarian, that just makes her a closet patriarch-enabler.
As a feminist, I think I am the best person to provide some perspective on Coakley’s gut-wrenching loss in Massachusetts.
First, and foremost, the voters of Massachusetts have a long history of misogyny. Oh, what about Coakley being the state’s attorney general? Please! I’m talking about the misogyny of not sending women to represent on the most prestigious level of government: Congress!! So, tonight’s loss comes as no surprise because as a progressive feminist, I am well aware that women are still a long way from achieving true equality. Voters in Massachusetts and the whole country need to get over their anger at women. Women make up nearly half the country and have no where near that much representation in Congress! The problem is that there are just too many people in this country afraid of a strong woman!
Brown is a complete beast and an open mysogonist. As a woman, I am so VERY UPSET by this turn of events!! I am trembling in horror at the thought of this pig in office!!! Why??!! The proof is in the pudding:
- Scott Brown wants to be the 41st vote to kill health care reform
- Scott Brown thinks President Obama might have been born out of wedlock.
- Scott Brown voted for a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage.
- Scott Brown thinks gay couples adopting children is “not normal.”
- Scott Brown opposes late-term abortion.
- Scott Brown thinks hospitals should be allowed to deny emergency contraception to rape victims.
- Scott Brown voted for a lifetime limit on welfare benefits.
With this staring them right in the face, I cannot believe how ignorant the voters of Massachhusetts are!
As a progressive woman, Brown’s insensitivity to rape victims and being anti-choice shows a complete ignorance of what it is to be a woman! Furthermore, Brown’s positions are a means of enabling men to keep women under control, which is really just a fear of losing male privileges. Men like Brown need to get a grip, act like men, and get over their fear of strong independent women! Besides, these men are just a bunch of whiny little boys and real women prefer real men. Frankly, they are just bitter because they cannot get with a woman.
Brown’s supporters are just a bunch of right-wing wackos. The amount of open right-wing weirdos is becoming more and more frightening to me. We need more laws to protect women from these lunatics! Looks like that’s not going to happen for a while, now. After all the progress we seem to have made, losing this seat, it’s like we’re going backwards.

You go, girl! Stick it to ‘em!
If the GOP wants to win elections, it must triangulate between misogynists and progressive feminists by promoting policies like prescription drug benefits so the latter can have access to a limitless supply of Xanax.
Progressive feminists like B!tchzilla are materialistic and detrimental to the family.
Hey B! You say Brown:
* wants to be the 41st vote to kill health care reform
* thinks President Obama might have been born out of wedlock.
* voted for a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage.
* thinks gay couples adopting children is “not normal.”
* opposes late-term abortion.
* thinks hospitals should be allowed to deny emergency contraception to rape victims.
* voted for a lifetime limit on welfare benefits.
like those are bad things. You know, when life gives you lemons, you can make lemonade by making Coakley’s loss a blow for 200 Grande!
For the first time in my adult life I am proud of Massachusetts.
Patriarch Enabler…Bitch Please! I wield a whip around here, and wielding a whip is just as powerful as your progressive rant.
You might think I would be the one drooling all over the new Senator, while he was younger and indeed, I have joined countless real women in viewing this article from the 1982 edition of Cosmopolitan. Honey…aside from Obama’s flawed health care policies failing, America gained some sex appeal in the U.S. Senate…sex appeal with common sense.
B!tchzilla: you do know that the previous holder of the seat, the late Ted Kennedy, once killed a woman. Now that’s (how do you say?) misogyny. Yes?
As a woman, I find columns like this frustrating too say the least. I should support Martha Coakley just because she’s a woman and I disagree with her views completely? Are you kidding me? Yes I will agree that women are a minority in Congress, and life is tough. However, I have also seen many well qualified men passed over for dumb women in a lot of jobs. I’m not a fan of the right wing wackos either, but let women compete on their own merits, not just because they’re woment.
