Trouble
Recently, Keith Fimian released a new TV ad highlighting Pat Herrity’s record on raising taxes. Also, D.J. McGuire over at Bearing Drift has a great piece up about Herrity’s tax record as well.
Do we want someone who voted to raise taxes representing us in Congress?

So, because Fimian pays to put it in a commercial it is true and accurate?
Let’s see his true and accurate accounting of how he PERSONALLY STARTED HIS US INSPECT business in HIS OWN GARAGE…let’s see his true and accurate accounting of how he acquired the knowledge to develop a patentable radon detection unit? His true and accurate accounting of how he proposes to reconcile publicly supporting all illegal aliens to remain (gagging, excuse me, hard to even type ‘amnesty’ for 20 million + illegals, nevermind by a “conservative”) as long as they come out of the woodwork and pay taxes (anyone else getting a good laugh out of that one?) versus his latest web release opposing the Centreville Illegal – er, undocumented worker – employment enabling center? his true and accurate accounting of how he is unversed in the massive budget constraints on Fairfax County Public Schools and what it means to the constituency he is wooing to face 35+ to 1 classroom ratios, busing, school closures, taxpayer expenditures for unwanted, unneccesary and wasteful new proposed schools?
For someone seeking to ‘represent’ us, there are not many I know of whom he is representative. In fact, wouldn’t hire him to inspect my house…not sure if the person showing up to do the work is in this country legally…
I would say the nespaperr ad is accurate, because unlike your ramblings, it is documented. It points to specific votes and minutes of the Board of Supervisors and Washington Post articles.
All of which was written away from the campaign season. Now you throw up a lot unsubstantiated drivel and no documentation. Not even a name.

The tea party is behind Herrity. He is the real conservative in this race. Money will not influence how we vote next tuesday!
Tea Party Member…I don’t believe your statement is accurate. What Tea Party do you claim to be a member? Money should not be the factor that influences our vote, but keeping OUR money in OUR pockets and OUT of the government’s should.
Looks like Herrity’s people are now faking endorsements.

I think you are asking the wrong question entirely. The question should be, do we want an effective legislator who will achieve lower spending and taxes or do we want a politician like Fimian who will say all the right words but be ineffective as a legislator?
Fimian has smeared all three Republicans on the Fairfax Board in his say anything campaign to win the nomination in the 11th. But Fimian’s lies and distortions don’t square with the facts or the political realities. And he has defamed three good men with his negative and untruthful campaign.
The Fairfax Board is composed of seven Democrats and three Republicans. The most liberal members of the board very nearly were able to pass a really terrible budget that would have had unsupportable levels of spending and a tax rate higher than what was ultimately enacted. Because the Republicans on the board negotiated with the more moderate Democrats they were able to pass a budget far more favorable to the taxpayers who are paying the bills. They were quite effective in influencing events considering that they are outnumbered 7-3 by the Democrats.
Now, if you are stupid enough to think that a legislator’s job is to engage in meaningless (and totally ineffectual) posturing when they are in the minority rather than to do their best to steer things in the direction you favor as much as possible then Keith Fimian is your boy. But you have to realize (unless you are brain dead) that had the Republican supervisors done what Keith Fimian seems to be saying he would have done had he been in their shoes, both spending and taxes would have been higher.
If Fimian had been on the board would you have felt better paying more taxes than you do now because Keith was “pure” and a “true conservative”? Because a politician like Fimian would have cost you some money with his “purity”.
Effective action is easy to criticize. Talk is cheap.
Fimian is a talker. Nothing more.
