'Colombianization' of Mexico
Christian Science Monitor has more.
Violence in Mexico escalates:
Last week’s Mexico car bomb in the border town of Cuidad Juarez killed three. It is the first known use of a car bomb against authorities and marks a troubling new level of violence in the country’s brutal drug war.
The significance: Mexico is in complete free-fall, with violence spilling over to the U.S. side of the border. With U.S. law enforcement personnel (such as Sheriff Babeu of Pinal County, Arizona receiving death threats), when will this scene be reenacted in the U.S.?

Obama's Gaffe
Just when I thought I heard it all before, President Obama again makes another gaffe about the midterm elections in November. In an interview with NBC, Obama claimed that the midterm elections would come down to “a choice between the policies that got us into this mess and my policies that got us out of this mess.” The mess he was referring to was the already high numbers of those unemployed in this country.
Ironic, don’t you think? Ironic…as Obama’s economic policies are based on Keynesian hack theories. Ironic…as the Stimulus and Omnibus packages have failed, since the jobs created from these acts are merely temporary.
Is it any wonder why Obama’s polling numbers continue to fall? According to a recent Fox News poll, “41 percent of voters will cast their ballots in opposition to Obama’s policies in the November elections.” This could bode well for turning over the House and possibly the Senate.
Maybe, this is why Obama is taking so many vacations or playing 41 rounds of golf…probably to keep his mind off the pending disaster that awaits in November or the already continuing disaster of an even Greater Depression.
The Solve-All Solution for Unemployment for Harry Reid
Is it any wonder why Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) is down in the polls and why there is great dissatisfaction for his job performance? When he was asked by reporters about whether or not the U.S. Senate would be addressing the unemployment issue, Reid mentioned that there would be legislation that would extend jobless benefits.
Jobless Benefits? What about addressing more incentives for owners of small businesses? What about enacting more tax breaks to businesses (of course, the response will be that the government will lose money…they could have handled this by cutting all unnecessary spending) to generate job growth?
However, Harry Reid (as well as the Democratic leadership) does not believe in this attempt. Rather, they believe jobs were created by the stimulus (even if they are temporary…just ask the Census workers). They believe ObamaCare will spur job growth. The sad truth is that jobs are likely to be lost under ObamaCare, as hospitals will likely be forced to close due to the loss of money. Lastly, Reid believes that an energy and climate change bill will create jobs. Jackpot! Ask anyone in the coal industry whether they would welcome this legislation. They would say No, as jobs are likely to be lost in this sector.
I guess Reid’s idea of a JOBS bill is to have people sit on their butts all day, twittle their thumbs, and collect money from the government. This is hardly economic recovery and is definitely counterproductive to prosperity. It’s no wonder, as Nevada’s unemployment rate is the highest in the nation, why voters are fed up with Reid and his Senate colleagues.
The Democrats Continue Mission Self-Destruction
The cards are starting to fall and the Democrats continue to unravel with this year’s elections being less than four months away. When you have the various pollsters and pundits, like James Carville, saying that it will take a prayer for the Dems to win this November.
Polls continue to show low approval ratings for Congress and President Obama, with a high degree of pessimism directed towards the economy and how both handled the health care reform.
However, both Congress and Obama have their heads stuck in the sand when it comes to addressing the budget deficit which tops $1 Trillion. Congress has yet to pass a budget, while the Federal government continues to think that spending will dig their way out of the deficit.
Aside from the budget, the stimulus plan that Congress passed and the President signed into law does not appear to be working as unemployment is near 10 percent. Somehow, the Obama Administration and Congress seem to be under the illusion that it’s working. In fact, Vice President Joe Biden must be under the illusion by making the comments that the economic initiatives taken by the Government have helped the economy.
In releasing a new progress report today on the $862 billion stimulus bill, Vice President Joe Biden echoed a question that he and President Obama like to ask on the campaign trail: “Are we headed in the right direction?”
Biden’s answer, of course, was yes: “The economic initiatives that we took, they are working … they are working.”The new report released by Biden and the Obama economic team said that the stimulus bill — what they call the Recovery Act — has saved or created between 2.5 million to 3.6 million new jobs .

Comments such as this and the one from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi only goes to show why the Democrats will lose in November
Sen. Stuart Smalley: The Right Choice for Felons
Minnesota felons love Al Franken (a.k.a., Sen. Stuart Smalley). They loved him so much that they turned out to help him ensure a narrow victory over Norm Coleman in 2008, according to a recent study by Minnesota Majority. They voted illegally and “Sen. Smalley” went to Washington.
This is interesting, because voter fraud is occurring all throughout the country. Should there be an investigation by the Department of Justice and the State of Minnesota? Yes. Will there be? It will be highly unlikely.
Yankees Owner George Steinbrenner Dies
It’s been a sad week for the New York Yankees. Yesterday, Yankees announcer, Bob Sheppard, died and today, Yankees owner George Steinbrenner died of a massive heart attack, New York Daily News reports.
While there are many who disagreed with Steinbrenner’s management styles, I have always admired “The Steinbrenner Way,” and without that style, the Yankees would not have made their ways to numerous World Series championships.
As a die-hard Yankees fan, I am in a New York-state of mourning today. My thoughts and prayers are with the Steinbrenner family.
Culture of Denial: The Dems Lose It Again
The 2010 mid-term elections could prove to be the thorn in the Democrat leadership’s side. Due to the unpopular legislative agenda set by the Democrats in Congress, the GOP could regain majority in Congress come November. President Obama’s Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs, admits that the GOP will most likely regain majority status.
If this is the case, will this Congressman be one to fall come November? After this temper tantrum, I would say someone is need of a major time-out.
Heat Waves=No Air Conditioning
Could you imagine having another 100 degree plus day and being without air conditioning? If you answered “no way, touch my air conditioner, and you’ll die,” then you might disagree with the author of a recent Washington Post editorial who suggests that we should stop using air conditioning units due to the excessive amount of greenhouse gases they emit into the environment. Evidently, the author has not had to encounter the oppressive heat in Washington, D.C., and obviously, he has visited European countries prior to his op-ed, where many do not use air conditioning.
While I understand that there was a time when people suffered through oppressive heat without air conditioning, it just does not work in the urban areas of the country today. There are many in this country, who rely on air conditioning for medical reasons, and without it, there would be grave consequences (death) and contributing to population control in America.
Additionally, the author of this op-ed claims that without air conditioning, it could promote a more flexible, more relaxed work atmosphere. Again, this would not fly in D.C., as the work environment is too rigid due to the professional culture. While Congress has abbreviated sessions, the professional culture would not ease, thus meaning the dress code would still remain in tact.
I guess this should be summed up at best by saying: “No air conditioning = misery = less productivity = more population control.”
