Massive Tax Increases Will Hit All Americans

Guest Post by Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.)

More than 7 million jobs have been lost in the last three years and over 3 million of those jobs have been lost since the President signed the so-called stimulus bill into law last year. Unfortunately, these are numbers that the American people are all too familiar with and yet the Congress continues to pursue an agenda that will further threaten American job creators. While Americans are asking “Where are the jobs?”, the Majority in Congress continues to demonstrate that they do not understand the priorities of our constituents or appreciate how private sector jobs are created.

It is clear: the policies of higher taxes, runaway spending, government takeovers and record debt which have become commonplace in Washington these days are having a chilling effect on the nation’s small businesses, the economic engine of our economy. From the so-called stimulus bill to the government takeover of our health care system and the threat of higher taxes and massive deficit spending, these policies have further hindered the creation of private sector jobs.

Unfortunately, just a little over four months from now, Democrats will impose further tax increases on American families and small businesses who are already struggling to make ends meet. According to the non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation, unless the $3.8 trillion tax hike, which will take effect on January 1, 2011, is prevented every American income taxpayer will face higher rates. Specifically, 88 million taxpayers will pay an average of $503 in higher taxes due to the elimination of the ten percent bracket, 35 million married couples will pay an average of $595 in higher taxes due to a reinstatement of the marriage penalty, 31 million families will pay an average of $1,033 in higher taxes due to a reduction in the child tax credit, the death tax will soar to 55 percent, and 94 percent of small businesses will see their tax bills increase as well.

At the same time that millions of Americans are confronted with these oppressive tax hikes, they will also be faced with the first round of tax increases that are part of the new health care reform law. This monstrosity includes over 20 new taxes or tax increases which total $569 billion in additional taxes on individuals and employers.

As if all of this isn’t devastating enough, more than 25 million taxpayers will be ensnared by the Alternative Minimum Tax and higher taxes will be levied on investments starting January 1, 2011.
The last thing our economy needs is crushing tax increases. Instead Congress must focus on policies that allow individuals and businesses to keep more of their hard-earned tax dollars, which would encourage investment and provide financial relief for America’s small businesses. Most importantly Congress must send a clear message to our nation’s job creators that they can hire new workers with the confidence that a higher tax bill is not on the way.

I remain committed to working to stop these massive tax increases on small businesses and working families that will have a devastating impact on job creation and our struggling economy. I will continue working to enact responsible legislation which puts money back into the hands of those who can really turn our economy around – the American people and small businesses.

The Palin Effect: A New Feminist Movement on the Right

With Sarah Palin’s rise to power over the past two years, there has been a rise in female Republican candidates seeking office, along with more females becoming active in political affairs. Could it be that we have a new feminist movement on the right?

According to a recent editorial by Dana Loesch in The Washington Examiner, the feminists are infuriated over Sarah Palin being considered a feminist. Ah, the notion of someone from the right being considered a feminist…wow, who would have thought that this would make the feminists angered. As Loesch discusses in her piece, feminism is no longer escaping patriarchy, rather it has become a movement that ties women to a political party, whose policies negatively impact women. This is the truth.

Loesch goes on to highlight many issues, where the liberal feminists have shown their hypocritical stripes, but it was her last comment that struck a chord:

Conservative women are active because the liberal idea of feminism has failed. An entire generation of berated men have been hog-tied by the chick card, and conservative women are tired of the liberal stereotype that they’re all simpletons who only raise their voices to sing in church.

Conservative women are rebelling against this false advocacy used as a political ploy to tether women to The Man.

Say hello to conservative feminism.

Conservative feminism actually stands up for working women and stay-at-home moms by advocating for common sense policies. This movement is not going away anytime soon and will continue to grow.

Adios Liberal Feminism…it’s been nice seeing how your radical views have detracted from the issues you championed over the years.

The Ultimate B@!*#slap

Pardon my language, but this ticks me off. Philadelphia is requiring bloggers to pay $300 for a business license. In a time, when local governments are scraping for money, they have found a way to generate money for their coffers by imposing such outrageous fees. Are they afraid of bloggers exposing the real truth about what is happening at town hall?

This is another case of the nanny state at work. Just another regulation imposed and the liberty of speech is being suppressed daily.

Is it me…

or is the President Obama taking one too many vacations? Just to think that during the Bush Administration, the Democrats were complaining about President Bush’s working vacations, and now, they are mum about Obama’s numerous vacations. While Obama and his family are enjoying their time in Martha’s Vineyard, let’s take a look at the number of people unemployed and wishing for steady income.

According to the Christian Science Monitor, unemployment insurance claims have spiked to their highest number since late 2009. 500,000 Americans filed unemployment claims. Add to that, the national debt continues to spiral out of control. The national debt now sits at $13,310,379,000,000.00.

Meanwhile, Obama continues to enjoy his vacation. Why doesn’t he address this situation before we head into an even greater depression? Worst than the one under President Warren G. Harding. Wait a second…we are already there.

Remember this in 2012, people. The hope and change you placed into office in 2008 has failed you…and looks like it will doom you as well.

Barack Bombshell

Investigative reporter Wayne Madsen has a three-part and growing series on Barry Soetoro, aka Barak Obama, and his familial connections to the American intelligence industry.  Here is a primer for the series:

Far from being the mere ‘son of a goat herder’ (as he deceptively paraded during and even before his candidacy), strong evidence has emerged that President Barack Obama is the product of the intelligence community. Investigative reporter and former NSA employee Wayne Madsen has put together an extensive three-part (and growing) series with conclusive proof and documentation that Barack Obama Sr., Stanley Ann Dunham, Lolo Soetoro and President Barack Obama himself all hold deep ties to the CIA and larger intelligence community. And that’s just the beginning.

After his election, President Obama quickly moved to seal off his records via an executive order. Now, after two years of hints and clues, there is substantial information to demonstrate that what Obama has omitted is that his rare rise to power can only be explained by his intelligence roots. However, this is more than the story of one man or his family. There is a long-term strategic plan to recruit promising candidates into intelligence and steer these individuals and their families into positions of influence and power. Consider that it is now declassified former British Prime Minister Tony Blair was recruited into MI5 before becoming a labour leader, or that George H. W. Bush not only became CIA director in 1976 but had a deeper past in the organization. While we may never know many pertinent details about these matters, one thing that is certain is that the American people have never been told the truth about who holds the real power, nor who this president– and likely many others– really is. Thus, we urge everyone to read Wayne Madsen’s deep report and seek the truth for yourself.

With this story going volcanic on Google Trends, yesterday, the Ministry of Truth sought to mischaracterize the internet buzz by rehashing the 2008 campaign meme of Soetoro’s Muslim background, provoked by a recent Pew poll.

Words Can Come Back to Haunt You

Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) should remember this, especially now that a video showing his disdain against birthright citizenship has resurfaced. It looks like Harry might be in some serious trouble.

Rand Paul to Obama: Stop Forcing Big Government Down Our Throats

It’s about time that someone had the guts to tell President Obama to stop forcing big government on the people and to butt out of state affairs. Thankfully, U.S. Senate Candidate, Rand Paul (R-Ky.) told the President to mind his own business.

Since President Obama has been in power, the Federal deficit has ballooned to an unprecedented high ($14.5 trillion dollars), government spending on wasteful programs has continued at a record rate, and relying on Keynesian hack theories (can anyone say Stimulus?) to solve our economic woes. Additionally, there has been increased regulations on our coal industry and offshore drilling at a time when we are in midst of an energy crisis. If that is not bad enough, unemployment numbers continue to spike as well.

Kentucky needs Rand Paul’s leadership in the U.S. Senate and there is no doubt the nation could rely on it as well.

Listen to the Gipper

I think this video has a great message, enough that I do not need to put many words to it.

Rand Paul Hoax

Retractions abound from a very funny tale about Rand Paul that has been circulating throughout the week:

The woman who sparked a national firestorm by recounting Rand Paul’s
youthful indiscretions to GQ magazine is now clarifying her account: She says she was not kidnapped nor forced to do drugs by Paul.

But she reiterated other odd aspects of her earlier story, including her claim that Paul and another college friend blindfolded her, tied her up, and told her to smoke pot and worship the “Aqua Buddha,” even if they didn’t physically force her to do these things.

(Slate: Racist ‘Rand fan’ actually Obama supporter)

The woman — who was made available to me for an interview by GQ reporter Jason Zengerle in response to the Paul campaign’s denunciations of his article — said she didn’t mean to imply that she was kidnapped “in a legal sense.”

“The whole thing has been blown out of proportion,” she told me. “They didn’t force me, they didn’t make me. They were creating this drama: `We’re messing with you.’”

The woman said that much of the subsequent coverage of her allegations missed a key nuance: As a participant in a college ritual, where lines between acquiescence and victimization are often blurry, she was largely playing along with the notion that she was being forced to follow Paul’s orders.

“I went along because they were my friends,” she said. “There was an implicit degree of cooperation in the whole thing. I felt like I was being hazed.”

That characterization of events supports Paul’s claim that, as he told Fox News yesterday, “No, I never was involved with kidnapping. No, I never was involved with forcibly drugging people.”

Regarding Rand Paul’s ability to dominate women, this comes across as quite disappointing.  Also, the part about the “Aqua Buddha” is about as ridiculous as a bunch of Yalies mastrubating in coffins, or the “most faggy God-damned thing” Richard Nixon or David Gergen could ever imagine.

IOUs Become Main Method of Payment for California

Mismanagement and giving into the unions have finally landed California right where they needed to be…in financial peril. The fiscal situation has been driven to the point, where the state has been issuing IOUs as a form of payment because they are unable to pay their bills.

According to NBC Los Angeles, John Chiang, California’s Controller will be issuing IOUs to cover payments to schools. With California on the verge of bankruptcy due to the Governor and the Democratic legislature being unable to come to a consensus over the budget, this might be the sole form of payment for a while.

Meanwhile, California’s economic woes continue on, along with our federal government’s decision to spend like there’s no tomorrow. Today, The Wall Street Journal released an article detailing the federal government spending, which totals $165.04 Billion. It’s only a matter of time before all of the cards collapse and the U.S. is stuck issuing IOUs as forms of payment. Unfortunately, taxpayers will be the ones holding the bill.
