As we celebrate the 100th Birthday of Ronald Reagan, one only needs to look back on his service to our nation and among the causes he championed, there is one that stands out: His devotion to the sanctity of life. In fact, Reagan passed executive orders condemning abortion, and during his eight years as President, he did not give a dime to Planned Parenthood.
Fast forward to 2011, the tide has changed, as the Federal and State governments are funding Planned Parenthood. This same organization is now in the news, as recently released videos of their clinics in New Jersey and Virginia have surfaced showing clinic workers allegedly aiding and abetting in child prostitution. These videos were released by Live Action, a group devoted to protecting the sanctity of human life.
Lila Rose, Live Action President, said in a statement about the videos:
“It is utterly disgusting that Planned Parenthood’s response to this is that their employee reacted ‘professionally,’” said Live Action President Lila Rose. “The only acceptable response to encountering a self-identified sex-trafficker of underage girls is zero tolerance.
The only ‘professional’ response is to immediately call law enforcement to the scene and push for an arrest. Our investigation – and their response – continues to show that an institutional crisis has engulfed the highest levels of Planned Parenthood. If you’re a sex-trafficker of minors or young women, you have a partner in Planned Parenthood. But if you are a minor or a young woman, you are not safe at Planned Parenthood clinics,” Rose continued.
Planned Parenthood and other liberal groups have been on the defense about the videos. Paulette McElwain, president of the Virginia League for Planned Parenthood, defended the clinic worker in the Richmond Times-Dispatch, by saying she followed protocol and acted professionally.
With the release of these videos, it only proves we need to de-fund Planned Parenthood. Why should Virginia taxpayers be the ones to foot the bill for the services offered by Planned Parenthood?

Regardless of the subject of the video, this is yet another example of why Virginia should make it a felony to videotape a fellow citizen without their prior, written consent.
Our Fourth Amendment guarantees that our citizens will be secure in their persons, and for someone to record others without their consent, denies this very fundamental right.
If we do not get bi-partisan agreement to mandate prior written consent before recording our citizens, we will likely see a wave of litigation designed to achieve the same end, as well as a burgeoning market in personal video cams so that every person would be able to create a video record of their daily activities, in order to have an unedited record to use against these sneaky creeps and voyeurs who are always out to play some version of gotcha, with a hidden video device.
When someone uses a hidden camera against you, they are violating your person, just as if they reached into your clothing. Considering that the person with a hidden camera is clearly exhibiting malice; should you discover the camera as it is being used against you, it would be reasonable to shoot them, since the person trying to record you obviously means to harm you and those around you. It would be interesting to see how the Virginia courts would rule in such cases, since, to many citizens, recording them with a hidden camera is every bit as much an invasion as reaching into their clothing and groping.
Please, let’s get our facts really straight about our so called runner for Senate–Allen! He claims to be pro-life but is a shareholder in Barr Laboratories, Virginia company that is the nation’s only manufacturer of the morning-after pill…and he has defiantly refused to sell his stock in it. This is not so much a matter of the abortion issue as it is of integrity. People tend to respect principled people, even if they don’t always agree with the principles. The abortion issue is super important for us conservative republicans, so why would we lend support to someone who owns stock in Barr? Sounds like a politician to me, he’ll do whatever he wants. How about someone that’s not a politician running in 2012? Can we find someone who hasn’t made politics his career??????
