Jody Wagner has a New Campaign Theme Song
Ah yes, it appears that Virginia’s own mathematician, Jody Wagner has a new campaign theme song. Bearing Drift has it online, so check it out. Wagner’s new campaign slogan is “Four Billion Off and a trip to LaLaLand”
Reason #122 on why Jody Wagner does not deserve a promotion
Can anyone say driving the Commonwealth further into debt by not accurately projecting revenues? Now, thanks to Jody Wagner’s service as Secretary of Finance during the Kaine Administration, the Commonwealth of Virginia is now trying to figure out how they will crawl out of a $288 billion dollar hole. Her projections said that revenue collections should be at 7.3%, and the Commonwealth has already declined to 9.3% for this year.
If you think this is bad, Jody now wants to be Lieutenant Governor and “live in the Lieutenant Governor’s Mansion.” How can we expect her to serve as Lieutenant Governor, when she drove the state into a huge deficit?
What is Steve Shannon trying to hide?
It seems that the Attorney General’s race is starting to take an interesting turn, as it appears Democratic candidate Steve Shannon does not want the upcoming debate in Virginia Beach to be taped. On Saturday, June 20th at 9:00 a.m., both Ken Cuccinelli and Steve Shannon will have their first debate, sponsored by the Virginia Bar Association. The Cuccinelli campaign wants to make the debate available through the internet to all throughout the Commonwealth.
While Cuccinelli stands for openness and accountability in the government, Shannon seems to be hiding something that he does not want Virginians to know. Whatever it is, shouldn’t Shannon be sharing this with the voters?
Bolling wins the LG Nomination in a Wide Margin
In perhaps one of the most widest margins in Convention history, Bill Bolling won the Lieutenant Governor’s nomination with a margin of 84-16. The next closest wide margin win was from 1985, when Buster O’Brien defeated Matthews by a margin of 72-28 in the Attorney General’s nomination. These are the unofficial results from the convention.
Bolling had 30 shutouts, and Pat Muldoon won three counties: Clarke, Giles, and Greene. Interestingly, there were ties in both Norton and Warren counties.
Now, we are off to victory in November, under a unified ticket of Bob McDonnell, running for Governor, and Ken Cuccinelli, running for Attorney General.
Delegate Tim Hugo's Campaign Kickoff
Before a large crowd of supporters, Delegate Tim Hugo kicked off his campaign yesterday in Clifton. Hugo was introduced to the crowd by Clifton Mayor Tom Peterson. Peterson emphasized that Hugo has done a lot for the town of Clifton and for the 40th District, while listening to the concerns of residents.
After Peterson’s remarks, Hugo addressed the crowd by highlighting his list of accomplishments. When residents in Virginia Run were concerned by a high number of traffic accidents due to the fading of the road lines, Hugo helped to ensure that the roads were paved and marked clearly. In Centreville, there was a problem with loitering at the Centreville Library, Hugo sought to ensure that this problem was solved in a common sense matter. When there was a high number of accidents around Popes Head Road and drag racing, Hugo sought to have additional police enforcement and a traffic light at the intersection of Popes Head and Fairfax County Parkway. These are the accomplishments of a leader, who truly listens to the voters, and seeks common sense solutions.
After Hugo’s remarks, he introduced Former Attorney General and candidate for Governor, Bob McDonnell. McDonnell discussed how important it is to ensure that Hugo is re-elected. McDonnell also talked about his proposals for education and energy.

McDonnell Kickoff: A Huge Success in Annandale
On a rainy Saturday morning, a gathering of about 700 supporters (confirmed by the Fairfax County Republican Committee) filtered into the Annandale Fire Hall to rally around Bob McDonnell as he officially kicked off his run for Governor. This enthusiastic crowd was pumped to welcome the McDonnell/Bolling team to town, as they held signs that said, “Bob 4 Jobs,” “Welcome Back Bob!,” and “Maureen 4 1st Lady.”
The event started off with Rep. Tom Davis, who was the emcee. Davis discussed how the Republican party will regain the statewide offices, as well as retaining the majority in the House of Delegates. Davis introduced Rep. Frank Wolf, who discussed how McDonnell will work to improve the transportation in Northern Virginia, and how McDonnell is a strong leader in passing legislation on strengthening internet safety. After Wolf delivered his remarks, he introduced Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling, who is seeking re-election. Touching on themes of improving the economy, transportation, and protecting Virginia’s status as a Right-to-Work state, Bolling delivered a strong speech that helped motivate the crowd. Bolling said that both he and McDonnell are working towards a better Virginia as a team.
