George Barker: Running Scared?

At a recent town hall meeting, State Sen. George Barker (D-Clifton) was asked why he would propose a redistricting plan with bizarre district lines. In the video, you will notice several attempts to block the person from taping the meeting. This poses a question: What is George Barker afraid of, that his LA and other staffers would try blocking the person from taping his response? Evidently, Barker and his staff do not want the constituents of the 39th District to hear the reasoning behind redistricting. Also, note the response from Del. Mark Sickles (D-Alexandria) as he also tries to argue with the constituent asking the question. I guess the truth hurts, and hopefully, that truth will hurt even more in November, when Barker (and Sickles) is defeated at the polls.

Today's Shocker: Terry McAuliffe Caught in a Lie

Granted, there are times when you can’t take people at their words.  In the bloodsport of politics, there seems to be a lot of fallacies spread around, and there are times when both parties are guilty. There are times when the truth can be stretched too far.

Case in point, during a recent campaign kickoff for Del. Scott Surovell (D-Fairfax), former Democratic National Committeeman Terry McAuliffe was caught “stretching the truth,” when he made this statement:

“The $1.8 billion in [transportation] bonding, we don’t have a repayment mechanism.”

Well, this seems odd…no repayment plan for the transportation debt? Something doesn’t seem quite right here, so PolitiFact Virginia did some research and pointed out that McAuliffe hit the Pants on Fire on the Truth-o-Meter.

The General Assembly, during the 2007 session, had a plan that involved setting aside some proceeds from a tax on insurance proceeds, along with taxes on wholesale gasoline to pay for the transportation debt. Revenues are also used to repay the transportation loan.

It seems that desperation has been hitting the Democrats lately, as they try to do and say anything to get a vote.

This is Why They Threw You Out…

Will the Democrats ever learn? At least, Rep. Steve Buyer (R-Ind.) has the balls to challenge the Democrats’ tactics on the floor of the House.

Dukakis Comes out of the Tank to Give Some Advice to Dems

You might be thinking, “WTF Crystal Clear Conservative? Is this from The Onion?” No, because The Boston Globe beat them to the chase. Former one-time Presidential candidate, Michael Dukakis decided to stop by The White House to share his strategy for the 2010 elections.

Was his strategy to urge Obama to jump in the tank for a ride to boost the American public’s impression of his party being strong and in control or was it for the Democrats to play the George W. Bush blame game for the state of the nation? Basically, Dukakis said the Dems should continue linking Bush to the economic crisis.

Wait a second! Something just doesn’t seem right. Bush did spend excessively, but Obama has spent more in his first two years as President. Wouldn’t the best advice be to take responsibility and work towards correcting errors? Not in the Obama Administration.

Today's Dose of Biden: Stop Whining

To quote a line from Marie Antoinette, “Let them Eat Cake!,” and to update the line to 2010 standards, “Let them whine.” Perhaps, whining is needed in order to prevent Congress from destroying more of our liberties.

Why did the Democrats Choose a Bullseye as their new Logo?

They are desperate for change. However, the only change they will see is a massive defeat in November. It’s ironic that the Democrats would choose a bullseye as their new logo. Again, another brilliant idea for former Governor “Jet Set” Tim Kaine.

PhotobucketBesides, the change that really matters is when Nancy Pelosi has to give up her throne as Speaker of the House.

Listen to the Gipper

I think this video has a great message, enough that I do not need to put many words to it.

Focus on the Corruption

Hey GOP, can I offer some advice to you? I know that you want to focus on policy this election, but there is something else you should focus your campaign strategy on as well. Currently, Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) is going to trial for various corruption charges.

Now, I know what you are going to say (blame it on my inner psychic), “Hey CCC, why focus on Rangel?” Rangel is part of Congress’ wave of ethic and legislative corruption. Look at what has happened since Speaker of the House, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and her leadership took over Congress. There have been several sexual harassment suits filed, rules violations, shady Senate appointments, the buying off of primary candidates, and my favorite (go grab a “Tickle Me Massa” doll), the so-called tickle incident.

Things are boding to well for Congress right now. Their approval rating sits at 38%, with votes of little to no competence. Is it any wonder why? While I agree that policy is the chief strategy, the GOP should focus on these ethics violations and continue tying Democrats to them.

The Democrats Continue Mission Self-Destruction

The cards are starting to fall and the Democrats continue to unravel with this year’s elections being less than four months away. When you have the various pollsters and pundits, like James Carville, saying that it will take a prayer for the Dems to win this November.

Polls continue to show low approval ratings for Congress and President Obama, with a high degree of pessimism directed towards the economy and how both handled the health care reform.

However, both Congress and Obama have their heads stuck in the sand when it comes to addressing the budget deficit which tops $1 Trillion. Congress has yet to pass a budget, while the Federal government continues to think that spending will dig their way out of the deficit.

Aside from the budget, the stimulus plan that Congress passed and the President signed into law does not appear to be working as unemployment is near 10 percent. Somehow, the Obama Administration and Congress seem to be under the illusion that it’s working. In fact, Vice President Joe Biden must be under the illusion by making the comments that the economic initiatives taken by the Government have helped the economy.

In releasing a new progress report today on the $862 billion stimulus bill, Vice President Joe Biden echoed a question that he and President Obama like to ask on the campaign trail: “Are we headed in the right direction?”
Biden’s answer, of course, was yes: “The economic initiatives that we took, they are working … they are working.”

The new report released by Biden and the Obama economic team said that the stimulus bill — what they call the Recovery Act — has saved or created between 2.5 million to 3.6 million new jobs .

Comments such as this and the one from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi only goes to show why the Democrats will lose in November

Culture of Denial: The Dems Lose It Again

The 2010 mid-term elections could prove to be the thorn in the Democrat leadership’s side. Due to the unpopular legislative agenda set by the Democrats in Congress, the GOP could regain majority in Congress come November. President Obama’s Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs, admits that the GOP will most likely regain majority status.

If this is the case, will this Congressman be one to fall come November? After this temper tantrum, I would say someone is need of a major time-out.
