The Occupy Crowd Wants to Shut Down Wall Street

Reuters reports that the Occupy crowd wants to shut down Wall Street. Didn’t they try to do this already? I know things have been busy with the election, and maybe, I have neglected a few things when it came to the Occupy crowd. Oh well, I wonder if it will be as successful as it has been in cities like Oakland and Portland, where they have been booted out.

They are probably not succeeding in Springfield.

Occupy [fill in the blank]…because it is better than actually doing something

When I was growing up, my parents always told me that hard work is the only way you can achieve the American dream. They were right. I got good grades in high school, made it into all of my college choices on my own accord with scholarship offers, and was the first woman (and family member) on both sidesto graduate college with honors. After a few struggles, I was able to enjoy success in my career and have the ability to provide for myself without assistance from my family. I am living my own American dream and responsible for my own success.

With this being said, I am actually disappointed by members of my own generation, as they are protesting in these Occupy movements across the nation. They want the government to provide their own success and feel entitled to receive the rewards of success without working hard for it. This makes me sick. It is not just my generation, but this movement encompasses the “baby boomers,” who also believe the government owes them for their plight. Again, who put us in the situation we are facing? Duh, duh, the “baby boomers.” The Occupy movement is nothing but a big smelly tantrum, and they want the government to give in.

This leads me to question: Why would you want the government to provide prosperity? Former President Ronald Reagan once said, “Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.” Each man, woman, and child is responsible for working hard for their own prosperity. Hard work is the key to success. Have these protesters forgotten the hard work that made this country flourish? I think so, and this is leading to the demise of our country.

If you want to view the behaviors of these “juveniles”, just watch the clips. Careful, though, there is some flagrant language (not that hurts anyone).

Baghdad Bob Does Better than Robert Gibbs

Baghdad Bob 1 – White House Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs 0

Being a press secretary for a one-term President must be a hard and stressful job. In a recent interview with The Hill, White House Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs, left his true feelings about those who disagree with the Administration’s policies. Gibbs was referring to those on the left, who have disagreed with the President’s dealings on Iraq, working towards the middle by bargaining on ObamaCare, and the stimulus plan, which some on the left feel should have been larger (any more and we would be clinging to the government’s hip).

“I hear these people saying he’s like George Bush. Those people ought to be drug tested,” Gibbs said. “I mean, it’s crazy.”

Wow…did he just say that those on the left who have been critical should be drug tested for having an opinion on the President’s dismal service? Whatever happened to the freedom of speech and having your own thoughts?

Is it me or has Robert Gibbs become kinda blah recently? Maybe, he “invented” new media. I think Obama would have been wise to utilize the services of one “Baghdad Bob.” At least, Baghdad Bob actually did a better job in his capacity as Press Secretary.

The Liberal Congress Manifesto

Right now, I am watching C-SPAN’s coverage of the U.S. House.  Yes, I am a political junkie and I should be sleeping (sleep, what’s that?).  I am compelled to write this after watching the ongoing coverage about the legislation that would place more regulations on firearms in Washington, DC.   This legislation proposed by the Democrats would place enough regulations on firearms usage that it would, in fact, cause another gun ban.

It makes me sick that Congress has to spend so much time talking about this legislation, when there are other issues impacting America.  We have been granted the 2nd Amendment Right to Bear Arms.  It is not the guns that kill people, it is those who misuse firearms.   This includes all 50 States, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and outlying U.S. Territories.  There should be no regulations that threaten our 2nd Amendment right.

The liberal members of Congress consistently stand at the podium and whine.  They whine about how guns are killing people and how firearms should be placed under heavy regulations.  They whine about how bad crime is and how the U.S. (particularly DC) would be better off without firearms.  They whine, but nothing gets accomplished and you wonder why!

Congress has experienced the lowest approval ratings in modern history.  Why, you ask?  They do nothing.  The Democrat controlled Congress would rather stand on the floor of the House and argue till they are blue in the face.  Still, it takes a five week vacation to get substantial energy legislation passed (which will most likely die in the do-nothing Senate…trust me, I’ll get into this rant later).   When they get back from their vacation, they make it their first priority to threaten our basic liberties.

If they pass this legislation further regulating DC gun rights, you know this will be passed on to affect other states in the nation.  This is just a threat and an assault on our Second Amendment rights.  In fact, I am starting to question whether the Democrats believe in upholding the Constitution or viewing as another piece of paper.

Frankly, I am sick and tired of listening to the traditional mouthpieces for the Democrats:  Steny Hoyer and Eleanor Holmes Norton consistently spew their gun grabbing agenda and how they can take away our basic liberties.

It is time to get back to work for the people of America and uphold the Constitution by protecting our liberties, not threatening them.

Consider this, The diary of a mad Second Amendment liberty lover!
