Connolly Tries to Distance Himself from Pelosi

It seems that lately Rep. Gerry Connolly is playing hide-and-seek from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. I wonder why…is it because the residents in the 11th District are fed up with the status quo in Congress? Connolly is now sending mailers out into the district trying to separate himself from Pelosi and paint himself as a “fiscal conservative,” “works with Republicans and like-minded Democrats,” and “voted against wasteful spending bills.”

The funny thing is: There’s nothing fiscally conservative about Connolly, as he voted for Obama’s health care plan (which will cost individuals and business deeply) and voted for every spending bill that went before the floor in Congress. What’s conservative about Connolly’s record as he votes with Pelosi 97% of the time?

As the polls continue to grow closer, Connolly is still showing desperation by lying to his constituents through claiming his pseudo-conservatism. Unfortunately, for Connolly, people are onto his tricks.

Gerry Connolly's So-Called Customer Service

When was the last time Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) actually listened to his constituents? Was it when he voted to direct funding for naming a post office in Maine or was it when he voted for Obama’s health care reform package (even though, a majority of his constituents didn’t)? Connolly has not been exactly receptive to the needs or wishes of his constituents. Connolly also skipped a vote to defund ACORN…ironic, don’t you think?

The Republican Party of Virginia (RPV) created a video to remind those in the 11th Congressional District of Connolly’s abysmal customer service. Connolly voted for 97 percent of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s liberal agenda and shows why he is so out-of-touch with his constituents. Yet another reason Connolly should be ousted in November.

Keith Fimian Releases First TV Ad of 2010 Campaign

Keith Fimian, candidate for Congress in Virginia’s 11th District, released his first TV ad today. The ad, “Mess,” which focused on the budget deficits and Congress’s inaction to address the economy. Fimian released the following statement regarding the release of the new ad:

“I am excited to announce that my campaign is again the first one on the air in this race. First radio and now TV taking on Gerry Connolly and Nancy Pelosi for the ‘mess’ they have created. Their policies are destroying our economy, from the government healthcare takeover to their failed stimulus to their trillions in debt,” Fimian said.

“I am the only candidate in this race who has created even one job—and I have created hundreds of them. I have the know-how to get our economy moving again. These are skills career politicians simply do not possess. We need more than the same tired rhetoric from career politicians to clean up the mess Connolly and Pelosi have created in Washington,” Fimian said.

“My campaign is the leader in the fight against liberal Gerry Connolly,” Fimian added. “I out-raised my primary opponent in his first quarter in the race and I am the first one on the airwaves. I am the only candidate with the message and resources to defeat Gerry Connolly.”

Stop the Mandate, Support Liberty Now

Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli has a petition online in the fight to stop the mandate. You can add your name here. On a good note, Cuccinelli filed a lawsuit today challenging the new health care law. It’s unconstitutional and Cuccinelli’s lawsuit might be able to stop ObamaCare in its tracks.

Aside from this, The Write Side of My Brain has a great video up on the new health care reform law. It’s time to fire Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats in Congress. In fact, nothing would give me more joy than to see Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) be forced into retirement.

Congress Passes Pelosi Care

Congress passes Pelosi Care (H.R. 3962) and one Republican voted for it! Guess who? Congressman Anh “Joseph” Cao of Louisiana. If I were the Republican Party of Louisiana, I would find a challenger to ensure he does not get re-elected. For Cao to vote for this bill, he is for government run health care and taking away more jobs. Cao is not a Republican, rather he is a traitor for voting yes on this bill.

Here’s the link to the official vote. In fact, 39 Democrats voted no to Pelosi Care. They, at least, stood on principle and voted against a bill that would cost the taxpayers dearly.

Another Nasty Encounter on the Hill

With health care being voted on today in the House of Representatives, there is no doubt that many constituents have been visiting or calling their Congressmen urging them not to support Nancy Pelosi’s health care plan. However, we are starting to see a nasty side of some members of Congress. While this should not surprise anyone from Rep. Paul Kanjorski’s (D-Pa.) district, his temper has just got him into trouble again.

A constituent from his district showed up to his office to urge him not to support the health care bill in Congress. Rep. Kanjorski pushed this constituent and said, “Get the Hell out of my building.” Kanjorski, then goes into his office and shuts the door on others who were waiting to voice their opposition to the bill.

Wait a minute, isn’t “his” building the people’s building? After all, our tax dollars pay for that building.

Actually, you can read this constituent’s account on his YouTube clip, which is featured here. Rep. Paul Kanjorski and the Congressional Democrats need to go!

Does Nancy Pelosi condone this type of violence?

I guess so. After all, in her USA Today op-ed, she refers to those who attend Congressional town hall meetings as being “un-American,” because they are voicing their dissent for Congress and Barack Obama’s proposals for socialist health care.

At Rep. Russ Carnahan’s (D-Mo.) town hall hearing, Kenneth Gladney was attacked by SEIU union members for handing out Gadsden flags to meeting participants. Is this the type of violence that Pelosi condones for “un-American” behavior?

Or, how about Rep. Kathy Castor’s (D-Fla.) town hall meeting where union members try to intimidate those who voiced dissent about the health care proposal?

What does Pelosi and the rest of the Democrats have to be afraid of? Are they afraid that the American people are holding them accountable for trying to push through socialist reform?

The Tables Have Turned on Speaker Pelosi

After watching this video, I am left questioning whether Speaker Pelosi knew about waterboarding and what she was doing when she found out this information. Either way, Pelosi is showing her denial of the truth. There is no doubt that she was well informed by the CIA about the waterboarding at Guantanamo Bay, and this video clearly shows that she is being dishonest with the American public. Is this the type of change we requested in 2008? I think not.
