Apologies…
Readers,
Please accept my apologies for being so quiet lately. Right now, I am without a laptop for the first time in my adult life. My computer’s video card stopped working, and thus, the end had arrived sooner than originally thought. It might alarm you that I would be computer-less, but I was able to take a technology-free vacation for the most part. It was the first time in a long time where I was able to enjoy a vacation, and got to see some cool stuff. The previous post shows a sign I saw in Burton, Ohio, and the rest of the trip was spent between Seneca and Cayuga Lakes in upstate New York enjoying some great wines and good cuisine. (I need to make a shameless plug for my new favorite winery, Bagley’s Poplar Ridge… visit and see why.)
On a positive note, I should have a new computer by the weekend. If you have any suggestions, leave it in the comments section.
In the meantime, I leave you with my new favorite political ad of the year. Move over, Basil Marceaux! Jimmy “Rent is too damn high” McMillan will prove the point. Personally, I think this guy is hilarious.

Thanks for reading. I’ll be back online shortly.

Giuliani Rumored to be Considering Senate Run
Fox News reports that former New York mayor and one time Presidential candidate, Rudy Giuliani, is considering a run for U.S. Senate in New York.
This does not surprise me, but I think Giuliani would be better suited to challenge current N.Y. Governor, David Paterson. The Governor’s race in New York is could be winnable for the GOP considering the unfavorable opinion of Paterson.
On the other hand, I can see Giuliani in the Senate. There is no doubt that he would drive the liberals crazy in the U.S. Senate.
Goodbye Dede!
Good news coming from NY-23, as Dede Scozzafava dropped out of the race on Saturday afternoon. This is a victory for conservative Republicans, as they have effectively forced a beneficiary of ACORN and a liberal Republican out of contention.
The Politico reported that Scozzafava was trailing both the Democrat, Bill Owens, and the Conservative Party candidate, Doug Hoffman. Since Scozzafava dropped out, the National Republican Congressional Committee and Republican National Committee have come out in support of Hoffman.
Perhaps, this should be a signal to the RNC and NRCC that they need to start endorsing candidates who embrace the party’s core principles of limited government and fiscal accountability.
Mayor Bloomberg: Go Back to New York!
I am certain that you have had heard the term NIMBY (Not In My Backyard). Well, this term needs to apply to out-of-state leaders, who think they can intrude on the rights of those who bear arms in Virginia, and who can legally purchase firearms at gun shows. Mayor Michael Bloomberg made a visit to Virginia, where he decided to make false claims about former Attorney General and candidate for Governor, Bob McDonnell. Bloomberg indicated that Virginia’s gun laws contributed to the Virginia Tech massacre, and he even decided to spend some money on some a TV ad that the laws are not stringent and tying them to the tragedy.
Maybe, we need to review some background here. The killer bought the guns at a gun shops here in Virginia, and he passed the background checks. At that time, the mental health reporting was not as stringent, compared to what it is now. After the tragedy, there was a great deal of bipartisanship when Governor Kaine and Bob McDonnell worked together to close the gun show loopholes. They both worked together to ensure tougher background checks (especially focusing on not allowing those with mental illness to own a gun).
Kaine was asked to cite issues on which he agrees with Republican gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell, the former attorney general. Kaine noted the cooperation between his administration and McDonnell’s attorney general’s office in crafting reforms to the state mental-health system after the Virginia Tech slayings in April 2007.”–”Kaine Hopes to Work with GOP on Jobless Benefits” Richmond Times-Dispatch. April 10, 2009
Perhaps, Mayor Bloomberg should head back to New York and handle business within his own city. He has no right to intervene in Virginia politics. On an aside, we have the right to bear arms, granted to us in the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution, and Bloomberg should remember this right should not be intruded by the government.

Is Schumer really a Moron?
Honestly, who does Chuck Schumer think he is? He might be the Senior Senator from New York, but he forgets the people who voted him into office when he makes such a stupid comment, “The American People really don’t care.”
Senator Schumer, do you honestly think we don’t care about pork barrel spending? Do you honestly think we don’t want this kind of stimulus to pass? We, the people, do care about how our government spends our taxpayer dollars! I don’t want to pay or have my children pay for the current debt we are accruing, thanks to the pork barrel spending. The people of New York should wise up and send this guy back to Brooklyn.
Chuck Schumer wins the CCC Idiot of the Month award!
