With yesterday’s announcement that Rick Perry is leaving the Presidential race, I felt Talking Points Memo offered a fitting tribute.
With his campaign team resigning, it is no wonder why Newt is so sad. After all, his campaign is imploding. Well, what did Newt do with the recent news? He is on vacation in the Meditterrean.
With this news, it is looking more and more likely that Texas Gov. Rick Perry will join the 2012 Presidential race. This is great news, as he looks to be the strongest contender in this crowded field. We need someone who is conservative (both social and fiscal), and someone who is willing to hold Obama accountable for his actions. Rick Perry is exactly the candidate the GOP ticket needs in 2012, and I believe he could beat President Obama.
If Texas Governor Rick Perry decides to run for President in 2012, count me as one of his earliest supporters. Perry fits the Presidential checklist, as he has been a strong fiscal and social conservative. Additionally, he has been extremely critical of President Obama’s policies, especially the health care plan. We need strong leadership in America to clean up the mess from the Obama administration.
